Alloy Wheel Repairs
Since the invention of the wheel people have always tried to improve on its appearance. Modern wheels can be either a steel wheel or a composite alloy wheel. Steel wheels are cheap to manufacture and therefore are cheap to purchase by the consumer. The main draw backs would be there appearance and how quick they rust. Modern alloy wheels are a different kettle of fish due to them being a blend of different metals in there construction this gives you greater strength and durability against rust than a traditional steel wheel would. Due to the improved strength they can also be manufactured in more elaborate shapes and designs than a steel wheel would. The main disadvantage to an alloy wheel would be there cost. How Vehicle Emissions Repairs and Testing Began
Vehicle emissions control and testing became an issue in the United States from the 1950s until the present time. Many state and local governments have conducted studies concerning air pollution and found that car and auto emissions contributed a significant amount to this environmental problem. The state of California was the first to take auto emissions control to a serious level of importance, creating the California Air Resources Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency back in the late 1960s. Both organizations created and enforced the rules and regulations for auto emissions control.
There had been efforts to control the pollution created by cars and vehicles before emissions testing became a big issue. There was the PCV system, or the positive crankcase ventilation system, designed to draw crankcase fumes in unburned hydrocarbons that are a precursor to smog. It draws the fumes into the engine's intake tract and they will be burned instead of getting released unburned into the air. The positive crankcase ventilation system was installed on new 1961 cars sold in California. New York also made it a law as California did by the following year. What We Need to Know With Vehicle Emissions Testing and Repairs
Ada County went as the first county in Idaho to administer the vehicle emissions testing program on motor vehicles of the area in 1984. Years later, in present time 2010, the city of Kuna and Canyon County also ruled in the emissions testing program. Kuna and Nampa emission repairs and testing began on the month of June and is still under observation on whether or not changes will be made to their program.
